Endometriosis Awareness Month 2022

I honestly don't know how to start this except for .. Thank you. Thank you for helping to raise awareness about endometriosis. Thank you for talking to friends, family and even strangers about a disease that affects so many women. I can almost guarantee that if you start talking about endo someone you know has it.

This year we were able to receive 17 proclamations from towns and counties to help raise awareness and show support for all of the women and their loved ones who fight this disease. We received proclamations from

Denton Chestertown

Ridgley Caroline County

Greensboro Somerset County

Preston Worcester County

Ocean City Talbot County

Snow Hill Queen Annes County

Church Hill Wicomico County

Federalsburg Dorchester County

Salisbury

We also received a proclamation from Governor Hogan from the State of Maryland. This is the first time Maryland has issued a proclamation for March being recognized as Endometriosis Awareness Month. The Governor also lit the State House up yellow to show support for all of the women in Maryland who suffer from endo.

Along with Chelsea from Southern Delaware Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Coalition we created the first ever "Yellow Day". We had so many businesses, towns and community members that stepped up to show their support. It was incredible to see the support that is being shown after fighting this disease for so long.

Speaking at these town hall meetings is not easy because this is such a personal issue but I know that is the only way we are going to spread awareness about this disease. We have to make sure that women feel comfortable talking about this disease so that they are able to advocate for themselves. Once we start advocating doctors will start listening.

The Eastern Shore showed up and I couldnt be prouder to be a part of this community. There is a lot of work to still be done. We must get to our medical community to help them understand endo and how we can help so many women who are suffering. I have met the most amazing women over the last 2 years who have their own stories about endo and how they want to help spread awareness. We can all spread awareness and support in our own ways to get to the same goal; education, support and hopefully one day a cure. I absolutley cannot wait to see what the next year has in store for all of us. As long as we continue to work together we CAN and we WILL make a difference and help others with endometriosis.
